MyChart is essentially a software provided by Epic Systems Corporation, and different healthcare providers implement this software in their unique systems. As such, each healthcare organization that uses MyChart has a distinct URL or web address for its patients to access the portal.

For example, a patient at Mayo Clinic would access their MyChart portal through the Mayo Clinic-specific MyChart URL, which differs from the MyChart URL used by patients at the Cleveland Clinic or Johns Hopkins Medicine. Each provider’s implementation of MyChart is tailored to its own systems and patient needs, which is why the URLs vary.

This setup allows each healthcare provider to customize and manage its patient portal system while still providing the core features of MyChart, such as access to personal health records, appointment scheduling, direct messaging with care providers, and more.

Patients need to know the URL for their healthcare provider’s MyChart portal. This information is usually provided to patients when they first register for the service. Still, it can also be found on the healthcare provider’s official website or by directly contacting the provider’s patient assistance.
